CCS Media is
committed to providing Equal Opportunities in employment and in the
service we provide. CCS Media intends to do this by maintaining and
rigorously implementing an Equal Opportunities Policy and Code of
Practice.
-
We are totally opposed to unfair discrimination.
We are committed to conducting our business in a way which is fair
to all sections of the community. This may mean taking positive
steps to ensure equal opportunities in employment and equal access
to its service.
-
We strive towards being an Equal Opportunities
employer and seek that no job applicant or employee receives less
favourable treatment than another on the grounds of gender, colour,
race, nationality, ethnic group, regional or national origin,
marital status, trade union activity, political or religious belief,
class or sexual orientation.
-
We seek to ensure that no job applicant or
employee receives less favourable treatment than another on the
grounds of disability except where this can be shown to be
justifiable.
-
We recognise the need to provide an equal service
to all members of the public taking account of any of the
inequalities noted in the previous paragraphs.
-
We are committed to following the requirements of
legislation against discrimination and related victimisation.
-
We recognise that discrimination may be direct or
indirect and aim to ensure that its policy covers both.
‘Direct
discrimination’ consists of treating a person less favourably than
others are, or would be, treated in the same circumstances.
‘Indirect
discrimination’ consists of applying in any circumstances a
requirement or condition which, intentionally or not, has a
disproportionately adverse effect on a particular group.
-
We review and monitor the implementation of the
policy and take action as necessary.
-
We are committed to providing appropriate and
relevant training in equal opportunities for staff involved in staff
selection and service delivery.
-
An obligation to abide by the Equal Opportunities
Code of Practice will be a contractual obligation.
